Akinyemi Oni-Orisan, PharmD, PhD is an Associate Professor at the University of California, San Francisco with appointments in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences, and the Institute for Human Genetics. He earned both his BS in biology and PharmD degrees at the University of Michigan. He received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics at the University of North Carolina. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Clinical Pharmacology Training Program at UCSF. His long-term research objective is to improve pharma¬colog¬ical regimens for the prevention and treatment of cardio¬vascular disease in ancestrally diverse populations through precision medicine. To accomplish this objective, his group combines computational approaches in pharmacogenomics and pharmacoepidemiology using electronic health record-linked biorepositories. He has been a member of ASCPT since 2013 and has served on the tactical plan task force, community leadership, and the scientific programming committee.
