Azimuth Global Health Consulting
Dr. Grasela is a scientist, essayist, and systems entrepreneur. He is Managing Director of Azimuth Global Health Consulting, LLC, focusing on applying emerging tools in knowledge management and artificial intelligence to address global health and development challenges. He earned his PharmD from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and then completed a residency and fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. He earned his doctorate in Epidemiology from the University at Buffalo.
Dr. Grasela served on the faculty of the School of Pharmacy at the University at Buffalo and subsequently co-founded Cognigen, the first contract research organization to provide pharmacometric modeling and simulation services for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Dr. Grasela is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. In 1988, Dr. Grasela was named a Burroughs Wellcome Scholar in Pharmacoepidemiology. In 2013, Dr. Grasela was awarded the Gary Neil Prize for Innovation in Drug Development from the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. In 2021, he was named an Honorary Fellow in the American College of Clinical Pharmacology.
