Dr. Jackson K. Mukonzo, Ph.D., is currently an Associate Professor and Chair Department of Pharmacology &Therapeutics Department at Makerere University, College of Health Sciences. He is also a founding Managing Director of the Bioequivalence and Medicines Analysis Center (BEMA)-Uganda. He earned his Ph.D. from the Karolinska Intitutet Stockholm Sweden, postdoctoral training at the University of British Colombia, Vancouver Canada, and a Fulbright Senior African Research Fellowship at John Hopkins University USA. Dr Mukonzo's research focuses on the application of Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacometrics, and pharmacogenetic concepts to optimize the therapeutics of infectious diseases in special populations. He a Principal investigator of several related research projects. He has published both original research and review papers in this area and has presented at regional and international professional meetings. Dr. Mukonzo saves on several Organizational Boards including one of the largest Not-for-Profit Mengo Hospital, and Makerere University Biomedical Research Center in Kampala Uganda. He, for a long time, has worked closely with Uganda's National Drug Authority in the fields of product research, training, and capacity building.
