Larisa Cavallari, Pharm.D., is a Professor and Interim Co-Chair of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research, Debbie DeSantis Term Professor, and co-director of the Center for Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine at the University of Florida. She also directs the University of Florida Health Precision Medicine Program. She earned her Pharm.D. from the University of Georgia and completed residency training at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis and a fellowship in cardiovascular pharmacogenomics at the University of Florida. Her work spans the discovery of genetic determinants of drug response to translation of pharmacogenetic testing into practice and examination of outcomes with genotype-guided therapy. She led the Implementing Genomics in Practice (IGNITE) Network Pharmacogenetics Working Group, which included early adopters of pharmacogenetic testing across the U.S. who shared and collectively disseminated data on implementation strategies, metrics, and outcomes. She currently leads the Pharmacogenomics Global Research Network Implementation Working Group, which aims to expand this work on a global scale. She has served on the ASCPT education committee, mentoring task force, awards nomination task force, and scientific program committee.
