Dr. Karen Brown, PharmD, is currently a Principal Scientist at the L.S. Skaggs Institute for Health Innovation at the University of Montana. She earned her PharmD from the University of Montana in 2020 and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in 2022 under the mentorship of Dr. Erica Woodahl, PhD. Dr. Brown has studied barriers and facilitators of pharmacogenomics implementation in resource-limited areas, with a focus on rural and Indigenous populations, since 2018. Her research interests include precision medicine and pharmacogenomics research with rural and underserved populations, innovative clinical trial designs and implementation of clinical trial infrastructure in community-based practices, and community-based participatory research to engage underserved populations in research and implementation of health innovation, and medication outcomes.
