Dr. Khaled M. Hasan is a highly accomplished educator and clinical pharmacology expert, currently serving as the Principal Faculty and Associate Professor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. His academic journey includes earning a Doctor of Medicine degree from Damascus University, School of Medicine, followed by a Master's degree in Pharmacology and a Master of Philosophy in Clinical Pharmacology from Damascus University and St. George's Hospital Medical School, respectively. Dr. Hasan furthered his education by completing a Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from St. George's Hospital Medical School.
Dr. Hasan has significantly contributed to various departments, including the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, the Physician Assistant Department, and the Physical Therapy Department. Currently, he holds the position of Principal Faculty in the Department of Physician Assistant.
Dr. Hasan's expertise lies in clinical pharmacology, backed by extensive knowledge and practical experience. His research has focused on angiogenic growth factors (VEGF) immunoassay for patients with cardiovascular risk factors. He is deeply committed to student education and has played a vital role in academic advising, and supporting pharmacy and physician assistant students throughout their studies. Actively engaged in interprofessional education initiatives, health fairs, and wellness festivals, he promotes holistic education and community engagement.
In addition to his teaching and advising roles, Dr. Hasan has been actively involved in various professional services and memberships, contributing to committees such as the Students Progression Committee, Assessment Committee, Graduate Program Committee, and Curriculum Committee at UMES. He has also demonstrated dedication to research with a wide range of topics, including cardiology, internal medicine, obstetrics, and pharmacology, presenting his work at conferences and publishing in esteemed journals.
