Senior Scientist
Simulations Plus, Inc.
Lara Clemens, PhD, is a senior scientist with Simulations Plus Inc. Her current research is on developing a quantitative systems pharmacology model of the complement alternative and terminal pathways to evaluate potential targets for therapeutic impact. In addition, she works on building mechanistic models of immune system contributions to drug-induced liver injury. In particular, she is focused on representing how adaptive immune cells may contribute to idiosyncratic drug-induced liver injury. She has also co-developed a mechanistic model of biologics-induced liver injury, specifically examining potential mechanisms of liver toxicity associated with tocilizumab administration. Dr. Clemens received a B.S. in mathematics and biochemistry from St. Lawrence University and a Ph.D. in Mathematical, Computational, and Systems Biology from University of California, Irvine.
