US FDA
Guansheng Liu, Ph.D., is a Senior Staff Fellow at FDA. He works as a pharmacometrics reviewer focusing on quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP), physiologically based pharmacokinetics (PBPK) and machine learning (ML) models. Before joning FDA, he worked in GE Aviation as a Senior Data Scientist. His expertise focuses on Machine Learning and Modeling. During his tenure in the company, he employed Bayesian-leveraged ridge regression, Gradient Boosting Machine and Probabilistic Deep Neural Network to build several forecasting models for aircraft engine maintenance service and cost. Before GE Aviation, Dr. Liu worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology and System Physiology, University of Cincinnati, focusing on Quantitative System Pharmacology (QSP), System Biology and Machine Learning. He developed a QSP model to describe the life cycle and treatment of Pneumocystis, revealed chemotherapy sensitizers against Fractional Killing by combining mechanistic biological models and data driven machine learning models.
