Sr. Principal Scientist
Simulations Plus
Kyunghee Yang, Ph.D., is a Sr. principal scientist at Quantitative Systems Pharmacology Solutions, Simulations Plus Inc. She received her B.S. in pharmacy and M.S. in pharmacokinetics from Seoul National University, South Korea, and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She currently studies computational modeling of drug-induced liver injury (DILI) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). She has been leading efforts to predict drug effects on liver health and function due to disruptions of hepatocyte biochemistry (e.g., transporter and mitochondrial function) and drug efficacy in treating NAFLD. She is also serving as a principal investigator for an NIH Small Business Innovation Research grant focused on development of a quantitative systems toxicology model to predict biologics-induced liver injury leveraging mechanistic data from liver-on-a-chip systems. She has published both original research and review papers in this area and has presented her research at national pharmacology and modeling meetings. She has been a member of ASCPT since 2011.
