Ibrahim Abdelgawad, PhD, is currently a Senior Clinical Pharmacologist at AbbVie. Dr. Abdelgawad got his bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Ain Shams University, Egypt. Last November, he earned his PhD in Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at the College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota. His PhD thesis focuses on characterization the molecular mechanisms of Doxorubicin-induced senescence and its implication in DOX-induced cardiovascular complications using in vivo and in vitro models. During his PhD, Dr. Abdelgawad has published more than 11 peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals, presented his work in multiple international conferences, and has been awarded multiple travel awards and fellowships including the Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship (DDF). Dr. Abdelgawad also did three Clinical Pharmacology internships during his PhD. This is his second time attending the ASCPT annual meeting and he is looking forward to meeting and learning from all colleagues and leaders in clinical pharmacology.
