Martin Oman Evans II is an Allergy and Immunology Physician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He completed his Allergy and Immunology training in 2019 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Prior to that he completed an Internal Medicine residency at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in 2015. He obtained an osteopathic medical degree from A. T. Sill University in 2012 following the completion of a bachelor’s degree in Spanish at Utah Valley University.
Following Internal Medicine training Martin Evans deployed to Jalalabad in 2016 as a flight surgeon. He performed flight physicals and ensured pilot health in accordance with U.S. Army Aeromedical Activity policies. He also supervised three aeromedical evacuation platoons. Upon completion of Allergy and Immunology fellowship MAJ Evans spent three years as the sole allergist in Fort Campbell Kentucky. He oversaw all pulmonary and exercise testing. He was selected as the chief of medical specialties. Currently he is developing expertise in drug development at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.
Among other awards MAJ Evans received the Armed Forces Service Medal and Meritorious Service Medal for his efforts during the COVID pandemic. He also received the BG Theodore C. Lyster Flight Surgeon of the Year award in 2017. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He is member of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics and is an abstract reviewer.
In his community MAJ Evans serves as a Sunday School Counselor in the Kensington Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He raises two children (ages 8 and 10) with his wife.
