Veronique Michaud, BPharm, MSc, PhD, is the President and Co-Founder of GalenusRx. Dr. Michaud earned her BPharm from Laval University, Quebec, Canada. She obtained her PhD and MSc degrees in pharmaceutical sciences from the Université de Montréal, Montreal, Canada. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University, Lady Davis Institute (Montreal, Canada) and a second fellowship at Indiana University, Department of Clinical Pharmacology (Indianapolis, IN, USA). Her research interests investigate the contribution of CYP450 drug-metabolizing enzymes in drug disposition with a special attention to the role of diseases, and pharmacogenomics, while attempting to better understand and predict variation in drug responses. During her academic career, her works have led to a better cartography of CYP450 enzymes and drug transporters along the human intestine, revealed the impact of type 2 diabetes and validation of endogenous biomarkers for the CYP450 phenotype. Dr. Michaud always looks at better ways to transfer knowledge from basic research to clinical application using new technologies. Throughout her career, she has highlighted her involvement with the development and implementation of clinical-decision support systems and medication safety assessment tools to help clinicians manage patients with polypharmacy. She has earned more than $22 million in research awards, published more than 89 peer-reviewed journal articles and more than 121 scientific abstracts, and mentored graduate students and PharmD residents.
